Northern Virginia Veterans Association
Mission: To provide access to needed services and diminish the inequities our most vulnerable veterans (elderly, underserved, disabled) struggle with and experience daily. Thus, eliminating the frustrations, anxiety, depression and suicide that plagues this marginalized population.
We have a distinct and fundamental mission as we focus on taking care of our most vulnerable veterans here in Virginia, utilizing local trusted partners. We coordinate and case manage through a continuum of services, offer warm hand-offs and provide follow-up until all needs are satisfied in order to improve the lives and wellbeing of those veterans who are underserved, marginalized and incapable of finding and receiving services on their own. Our membership is comprised of individual veterans, active military, family members, area citizens, and partners of businesses who serve and honor our veterans. We work together through a common bond of service and commitment to support our joint mission of caring for our veterans and their families.
WE ARE NOT A FUNDING RESOURCE.

Dave’s Founder Story: Link to video
Founder Story Summary: Dave’s journey began with a football injury at 15, eventually leading to debilitating knee osteoarthritis in his 20s. Faced with limited treatment options, he took matters into his own hands. Through ingenuity and perseverance, Dave created a custom knee brace with springs to alleviate weight-bearing pressure, providing remarkable relief. Recognizing the potential impact of his innovation, Dave founded Icarus Medical. Today, the company pioneers advanced knee braces, offering hope and mobility to millions worldwide.

Sony Corporation of America Donates Over-the-Counter Hearing Aids to the Northern Virginia Veterans Association
In March 2022, Sony Corporation of America and the Northern Virginia Veterans Association established a partnership to further support veterans in the Northern Virginia region. The organization provides veterans with local services, resources, personal support, follow-up and care and have collaborated with Sony employee volunteers across the United States to honor the contributions of our nation’s service members.
The Northern Virginia Veterans Association recognizes the importance of providing veterans and their families with the highest standard of care, and diminishing the inequities that the elderly, underserved, and disabled in this community struggle with and experience daily. This mission aligns closely with Sony’s commitment to leverage creativity and technology to enrich and improve people’s lives, and last year, the company embarked on a special initiative that would help to enhance the everyday lives of the veterans and spouses supported by the Northern Virginia Veterans Association.
