When: Saturdays, March 2, March 9, March 16, and March 23 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Who: Open to Veterans, Servicemembers, and their families; children ages 12 and up may participate alongside their parents. Space is limited.

What Cost: Free

What is it?: This workshop covers the basic techniques of hand papermaking using rags or old clothes and includes deconstructing materials using the Hollander Beater; pulp preparation; sheet forming; couching; pressing; and drying. Instruction includes an overview of techniques for at-home papermaking using locally sourced and affordable materials. Also included: bookbinding techniques, silkscreens, and casting objects using previously hand pulled sheets. This class is designed as an introduction for new students who will create their own artwork to frame! Clothing and shoes may get wet. Wearing rubber-soled shoes and old clothing is recommended.
